The Lightlings

I just read a wonderful children's book that my little siblings got for Christmas. It's called The Lightlings by R.C. Sproul, and it explains why some people are afraid of the dark, and some are afraid of the light.

It is an allegory about the world - Creation, Fall, and Redemption, told in a magical setting about tiny, glowing, winged beings called Lightlings.

The illustrations (by Justin Gerard) are as beautiful as the story, from the leaving of the garden to the scene of the Baby's birth at Christmas.

"We're afraid of the dark because we were made to live in the light. But someday, all of us who love this Son will live with Him forever in heaven... where there will be no darkness at all."
